I hadn’t intended going to Madame Tussaud’s whilst I was in New York, but I found myself in Times Square one evening with not much else to do and it was just there. Lit up in front of me. It was still open and I had a pass that included free entry so thought I might as well go and see what it had to offer.
Well it was a complete nightmare. So horrific I had to make a video so I could share the experience in full with you.
If you’ve read some of my recent posts you’ll know that I’ve been trying to teach myself a bit about making videos and editing them. Last time I experimented with Videopad so thought I’d use it again this time. I got a pop-up message saying my ‘trial’ had expired and so I would only have access to the free version which doesn’t have all the features. I didn’t think this was a problem as I’m such a beginner I’m still trying to learn the absolute basics and it will be ages before I’m ready for fancy features.
It was a problem.
This became part 2 of my Nightmare at Madame Tussaud’s. After spending a whole evening faffing around and finally thinking I had something halfway decent I tried to save it and export it to YouTube. Only to then find out that saving and exporting are some of the features no longer included.
WHAT?
What’s the point of making a video if you can’t save it or export it? Even if you’re a beginner? Couldn’t they have mentioned that in the ‘pop-up’? After a lot more faffing I found a way round it. But I know I won’t be upgrading Videopad. If they’re like this before they’ve got my money what would they be like after they’ve got it?! (And a bit more Googling has thrown up lots of comments about how long it can take to save and upload videos compared to other apps even with the paid version.)
Anyway, that’s enough of my ranting as I’m sure your dying to know about my Nightmare at Madame Tussaud’s. I thought it was perfect for Halloween.
If, after watching the video, you decide you want to experience your own Nightmare at Madame Tussaud’s you can find their website here.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. Both about my Nightmare at Madame Tussaud’s and about my video skills. Tips are always welcome.
